The Google Transit is still in Beta stage with a few cities available but there is huge potential for this idea and once they add more and more destinations it will become a must-have resource for a traveller. Imagine step-by-step directions from point A to point B on local public transportation in any city in the world, on top of that Google Transit will tell you which option is cheaper on your wallet - public transportation or driving... I can see this becoming an essential tool for anyone arriving in a new city which they have not been to so far and looking up the best and most efficient way of getting from the airport to their hotel, for example.
