Facebook user backlash began
If you are like me, you have a little problem with addiction to social networking sites, including the ever so popular Facebook where millions of users pour their life into each and everyday. By disclosing their interests, habits and what they like and do not like, where they travel, who are their friends etc. making it a gold mine for data mining, greedy marketing companies to take a advantage of the huge wealth of information accumulated over the last several months. Facebook has gone too far with how they use the user's information and will turn into another nightmare plastered with ads like MySpace did? Absolutely! All these sites and people behind them are there to make money, not provide a free service for the fun of it. I was an early adopter of MySpace until I got tired of what it became in a short period of time, which prompted me to remove all the information and delete my account. I am afraid Facebook will be the next victim of its own success, with a little focus on user privacy and targeted advertising being unleashed, many people will now decide that it time to leave. I think it is time for all of use to think twice what personal information and how we share online.
